In Plüschow, in the district of Nordwestmecklenburg, stands Plüschow Castle, a historic manor house. The unadorned brick building, originally designed as a summer residence, has its elegant facade and preserved Rococo elements.

History+

The castle was built in 1763 for the Hamburg merchant Phillip Heinrich von Stenglin as a summer retreat. In 1802, the Mecklenburg hereditary prince Friedrich Ludwig acquired the estate along with its associated lands. It remained in his family's possession until its expropriation in 1945.
