Herren von Ponickau
In Pohla, a manor house was first mentioned in 1276. In 1557, the estate came into the possession of the Lords of Ponickau. In 1635, the manor house was elevated to a knight's estate. The current castle was built in 1722 and rebuilt in 1870. In 1945, the Lords of Ponickau were dispossessed and expelled by the communists. Today, the castle belongs to the von dem Knesebeck family.
