Poitschach Castle

The origins of Poitschach Castle date back to the early 18th century, when Johann Lorenz von Jovio initiated the construction of the baroque castle in 1715. In 1759, under Baron von Rechbach, the complex underwent modernization and expansion. Around 1800, the estate changed hands when Count Spindler sold it to Countess Gilleis-Gavasini. Following her family's financial ruin, the castle experienced a period of frequent ownership changes until it came into the possession of the Senitza family in 1938, who still use it today as a residence and administrative seat for a forestry and agricultural estate.
