Polheim Castle

Polheim Castle was the seat of the Lords of Leibnitz until 1369 and the seat of the Polheims until 1575. The irregular two-wing late Renaissance building dates from the mid-16th century. In 1693, part of the castle was demolished. Two-story arcades, the columns on the ground floor with Ionic capitals, on the upper floor in the manner of Romanesque bud capitals similar to those in Ehrenhausen Castle, simple Renaissance portal on the west side. The Leibnitz sculptor Wilhelm Storer designed the coat of arms of Bishop Rudolf Joseph Graf Thun on the north side in 1693.
