Poysbrunn Castle

The first documented mention of Poysbrunn Castle dates back to 1360. In 1571, the estate passed into the possession of Baron Hans Trautson II. The castle experienced numerous changes of ownership. The core of the southern wing originates from the 14th century. The complex was redesigned in the 16th and 17th centuries and expanded with an additional floor in the 18th century. The simple facade with its stone-framed windows and gabled roofs was restored in the late 1970s. A stair tower in the north received an additional clock story with an onion dome in the 19th century.
