Prebberede Castle

A predecessor building was already mentioned in 1228. Count Carl Friedrich von Bassewitz had the castle and the stable buildings constructed between 1772 and 1778 by master builder Sidon from Güstrow. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists. In 1951, it was granted the status of a listed building. The first restoration works took place in 1959/60, with further renovation in 1984. The Leyh family, who acquired the castle and the entire complex in 1990, had it renovated again. Today, the building houses apartments.
