Prez vers Noreaz Castle is a historical structure in Switzerland, located in the municipality of Prez-vers-Noréaz in the canton of Fribourg. It stands out for its architecture and the proportions of its facades and grand staircase.
History+
Prez vers Noreaz Castle was built in the 18th century by the von Féguely family, a noble family with various branches in the canton of Fribourg. After the extinction of the von Féguely branch in Prez, the castle passed into the possession of the Roth-Fehr family from Burgdorf. In 1891, the municipality of Prez acquired the property to establish schools there. Following renovations, the castle was classified as a historical monument in 1969. In the same year, the municipality sold the castle to the Savings Bank of Prez, Corserey and Noréaz, which, after alterations, used it as a bank branch. Since 1990, the Bank of Prez has been housed in the premises of the castle.
