Pullach Castle

Pullach Castle is first mentioned in a document in 1430 as being owned by the Auer von Pullach family. After the Auer family died out in 1625, ownership passed by inheritance to the Lords of Hundt zu Falkenstein. In 1642, Count Johann Wilhelm von Lamberg acquired the property. In 1804, the castle was sold to Georg Benedikt Desiderius Sigmund Edler von Schneid. This was followed by frequent changes of ownership:

• 1878 to 1908 owned by the Knights of Poschinger
• 1880 to 1887 reconstruction of the castle to its current appearance
• 1908 to 1935 owned by the Tregler family, then sold to the von Cramer family
• 1942 sold to the Lilienthalgesellschaft für Luftfahrtforschung e.V.
• 1945 taken over by the Bavarian tax office, from 1949 by the Free State, used as a refugee home
• 1964 acquired by Max Böhler
• 1976 acquired by Hermann Prince of Saxony
• since 1997 owned by the Schurzmann family, who renovated the castle from 1997 to 1998
