Quadenhof Castle
The Quadenhof at Gerricusplatz 23 in Düsseldorf-Gerresheim was built between 1427 and 1436 for Godert von Broichhusen. The estate was named after the Quad von Raede family, who acquired it by marriage in 1458. The Quadenhof is one of the few secular brick buildings from the late Middle Ages that have been preserved in the Düsseldorf area.
Description+
The Quadenhof was built as a fortified noble residence in the late Gothic style. At its core, it is a rectangular, three-story brick defensive building with a steep gabled roof. The east facade is three-axis and has a centrally located dwarf gable. Above the entrance, a mullioned window in the 15th-century style has been preserved. Four other mullioned windows are located on the east side, along with the latrine bay. A baroque roof turret is located on the gabled roof.
