Rauenberg Castle
In the town of Rauenberg, Rauenberg Castle stands, an 18th-century structure in Baden-Württemberg. It was built on the foundations of an older moated castle and served as an administrative seat.
History+
The construction of Rauenberg Castle began in 1737. It was erected on the existing vaults and foundations of a former moated castle. The building served as the official residence for the Prince-Bishopric of Speyer, as shown by the coat of arms of Prince-Bishop August von Limburg-Stirum above the portal. The two-story, horseshoe-shaped complex has a functional design without architectural ornamentation.

Today, Rauenberg Castle houses a museum. Since 1986, the Rauenberg Winegrowers' Museum has been located here, presenting exhibits on viticulture and rural village life. The building is designated as a protected architectural monument.
