The listed Rauenstein Castle in Überlingen was built around the year 1900 by the Swiss privateer and retired cavalry captain Otto Ziesig. In 1950, the castle was acquired by the then district of Überlingen and, in the course of the district reform, passed to the Bodenseekreis.
