Rauischholzhausen Castle

Rauischholzhausen Castle, originally named Neu Potsdam, is a castle-like manor house on the southwestern edge of Rauischholzhausen, a district of the municipality of Ebsdorfergrund in Hesse. The castle is managed by the Justus Liebig University Giessen, which uses it as a conference venue. Surrounding the castle is the 32-hectare Rauischholzhausen Castle Park, an English landscape park that was laid out simultaneously with the construction of the castle between 1871 and 1876.

In 1873, the industrialist and legation secretary Ferdinand Eduard Stumm (1843–1925), who was later ennobled, purchased the land with meadows and forest areas.
