Reichertshausen Castle

The first mention of the locality Reichertshausen dates back to the year 779. Around 1060, the Babenberg family appeared as lords of the estate, followed by the family who later named themselves after the place. In 1334, Ludwig Pütrich, a citizen of Munich, acquired the castle and the associated lands. Emperor Ludwig the Bavarian granted him the closed Hofmark rights in 1347. Descendants of the Pütrich family also owned other Hofmarks. At the end of the 15th and beginning of the 16th centuries, the property passed to Hans von Pfeffenhausen. From 1607, the Barons von Weichs were the owners. Through marriage, the castle came into the possession of the von Cetto family in 1840, who still inhabit it today. The oldest parts of the building date back to around 1100. In the 16th century, the lords of Pfeffenhausen undertook a late Gothic renovation.
