In the market town of Rentweinsdorf, in the Haßberge region, lies a Rococo complex that, together with the parish church opposite, forms the historical center of the village. It remains an inhabited noble residence to this day.

History+

The estate dates back to the 14th century when the Lords of Rotenhan settled here. After the destruction of their ancestral castle by the Diocese of Würzburg in 1333, the family is documented in Rentweinsdorf. Originally, it was a fortified manor house that was expanded into a Ganerbenburg (jointly inherited castle) with several castle houses, round towers, and outer bailey systems.
