Reuth Castle, in the municipality of Reuth in the Upper Palatinate, is a complex characterized by a domed round tower.

History+

The first documented mention of Reuth Castle dates back to 1337, when it was owned by the Trautenberger family. In 1602, the property passed to Georg Friedrich von Unruh through marriage and later to the related Sparnecker family. During the Sparnecker era, which lasted from 1628 to 1744, the Reuth Castle Brewery was founded in 1742, emerging from a traditional house brewing right. In 1772, the Barons von Reitzenstein acquired the Hofmark Reuth and maintained manorial rights and lower jurisdiction until 1848.
