Rimpach Castle
Rimpach Castle is a castle in the hamlet of Rimpach, a district of Friesenhofen, Leutkirch im Allgäu.
The castle ensemble, owned by the Waldburg-Zeil family, consists of a former prince-bishop's hunting lodge with a hall of mirrors, as well as an inn and a castle chapel. The St. Leonhard Chapel, built in 1765, can be traced back to an originally Gothic chapel from the 14th century; frescoes are visible in the interior. The entire two-story buildings with mansard roofs of the castle, built between 1754 and 1757 by Johann Georg Specht, are listed as historical monuments. The builder was the Prince-Bishop of Chiemsee and Canon of Salzburg and Basel, Count Franz Karl Eusebius von Waldburg-Friedberg und Trauchburg.
