Rösberg Castle

The original Rösberg Castle, seat of the oldest dynasties in the region, was found in a ruinous state in the mid-17th century. Ferdinand von Weichs initially had a new manor house built. Later, Baron Ferdinand Joseph von Weichs decided to construct a castle outside the village. This new castle, which also utilized materials from the old one, was built north of Rösberg and completed in 1731. The manor house, originally two stories high, was extended by one floor after a fire in 1833.
