As early as 1411, a farm in "Rorveld" owned by Vinzenz Potschacher is mentioned. Later, ownership changed to Hertl von Arndorf, in 1430 to Albrecht V, and in 1451 to Oswald Egger. In 1540, the house was renovated, and in 1609, the castle was built on the walls of the previous structure. During the Thirty Years' War, the castle was plundered by imperial troops in 1619. In 1671, the castle was rebuilt and renovated in 1955. Further owners included the Lords of Prösing in 1564, Kaspar von Rogendorf in 1592, and the Hoyos zu Persenbeug family in 1600.
