Rosenbichl Castle

The origins of Rosenbichl Castle date back to 1268, when predecessor buildings were first mentioned in documents, including as "Puehlaren" and later in the 15th century as "Minzenbach". In the 14th century, the estate came into the possession of the Gradenegger family, who leased it to the Kulmer family. This family began constructing a "new house" from 1535, integrating older building components. Extensions followed in 1566. The Kulmers held the property until 1676, before it passed through several hands, including Johann Bischof von Sulzbach, Franz Andrä von Aschau, and Johann Stieff von Cräntzen, who bequeathed it to St. Georgen am Längsee Abbey. After the dissolution of the monastery in 1786, Maximilian Thaddäus von Egger acquired the property.
