Rosenhof Castle

The origins of Rosenhof date back to the first half of the 16th century. In 1533, Jakob Stockinger acquired the then-farm and developed it into a noble manor, freeing it from servitudes. His descendants sold the property in 1604 to Ciniak Schröckhinger zu Neblau, who continued its expansion. Schröckhinger received permission in 1606 to name the estate Neidenberg, and a small keep was also erected around that time. After several changes of ownership, including Anna Lukretia Kuglmann and Georg Caspar Auer, Rosenhof passed to Ferdinand Leopold Graf Breuner in 1687. In 1721, the estate was auctioned and subsequently changed hands multiple times until it was acquired by the Jesuits of Graz in 1745, who used it as a guesthouse.
