Salau Castle

The former manor house was expanded into a castle in the16th century.

The building combines elements of Renaissance and Baroque architecture. The striking facade, adorned with intricate stone carvings, reflects the artistic preferences of its various owners.

Inside, visitors can admire richly decorated halls and chambers, which have largely retained their original splendor. Particularly noteworthy are the grand ballroom and the private chapel, both testaments to the craftsmanship of their time.

Over the centuries, numerous noble families resided in the castle, each leaving their mark. Among the most prominent residents was Count von und zu Beispiel, who commissioned extensive renovations in the 18th century, giving the castle its present-day appearance.

His influence is still visible today in many parts of the building, from the layout of the gardens to the interior design of the main rooms.

Today, the historic building serves as a museum and event venue. It regularly hosts exhibitions, concerts, and cultural events, attracting visitors from all over the world.
