Sallgast Castle in Brandenburg, originally a medieval moated castle, is today a versatile historical building.

History+

The origins of Sallgast Castle date back to the 12th century when it was built as a moated castle. During the Thirty Years' War, the complex withstood a siege by Swedish troops. It was converted into a four-winged castle. Around 1880, a castle park was laid out, which was expanded in 1911. Between 1911 and 1912, Bodo Ebhardt undertook a comprehensive restoration of the structure. The castle's history is marked by frequent changes of ownership.
