Schadau Castle (Thun)
Schloss Schadau, a building in the Tudor Gothic and Neo-Renaissance styles, is on the southern shore of Lake Thun in the Swiss city of Thun.
History+
The construction of Schloss Schadau took place between 1846 and 1854. It was built for the banker Abraham Denis Alfred de Rougemont according to designs by architect Pierre-Charles Dusillon, replacing an older country estate. Since 1925, the castle has been owned by the city of Thun. Between 1972 and 1992, the castle's facades underwent restoration by the city's stonemason team.

Today, Schloss Schadau houses a restaurant. It also hosts the Swiss Gastronomy Museum. The castle is publicly accessible.
