Schauensee Castle (Kriens)

The first documented mention of Schloss Schauensee occurred in the 13th century, associated with the knight Rudolf von Schauensee. The exact date of its construction is unknown, but by the early 14th century, the original castle was already in ruins, with only the tower remaining from that period. In the late 16th century, Johannes von Mettenwyl acquired the complex and initiated its reconstruction.
