Schmidtheim Castle

The origins of Schmidtheim Castle date back to the 16th century, with construction continuing until the 18th century. The four-story residential tower, still preserved today, was the first element to be built. The complex underwent expansions, including an outer bailey with an economic courtyard, two side wings, and a four-part fountain basin in the inner courtyard. The castle's moats are no longer visible today, as they have been filled in. The estate remains to this day in the private possession of the Count Beissel von Gymnich family.
