Schloss Schney in Schney was built between approximately 1680 and 1690 in place of an older castle complex, serving as the residence and administrative seat of the Schaumburg family. After the Schney line of the Schaumburg family died out, the castle passed into the possession of the Holstein family von Brockdroff in 1706, whose descendants owned the castle until 1873.
In 1950, the building was purchased by the local gymnastics club (Freie Turnerschaft Schney) and used as a gymnasium.
Current Use+
Currently, the castle houses the conference center "Franken-Akademie".
