Schloss Schönach+
Geschichte+

Schloss Schönach is first mentioned in the 12th century. It was built by the Lords of Schönach, who ruled there until the end of the 14th century. Later owners included the Paulsdorfers, the Seiboldsdorfers, and the Königsfelders. Around 1726, the castle was owned by Count Emanuel von Arco. In 1764, the Counts of Seinsheim bought it. The three-story building with a hip roof features baroque interior decoration from after 1703, executed by Hans Georg Asam, among others. The Knight's Hall with stucco work and murals is worth seeing.
