Schomberg Castle
Near Stebbach, a district of Gemmingen in the Heilbronn district, stands Schloss Schomberg. It was built on a previously undeveloped hilltop and is characterized by its symmetrical architecture and the surrounding park landscape.
History+
The construction of Schloss Schomberg took place between 1820 and 1826. The client was Hans Christoph Graf von Degenfeld-Schonburg, who had the plans of the court architect Karl August Schwarz implemented. Schwarz, who at the same time also designed the town hall in Eppingen in the Neoclassical style, created an estate here. The castle was positioned west of the older Streichenberg Castle.

Today, Schloss Schomberg is privately owned. It continues to be inhabited by the Degenfeld family and is therefore not publicly accessible.
