Schorn Castle
Schorn Castle is located on the edge of the Donaumoos in the Pöttmes district of Schorn, Aichach-Friedberg district, Bavaria. As a Hofmark castle, it was the manorial seat of the Hofmark Schorn. The castle with a hip roof, grand staircase and terrace was built at the end of the 18th century by Ignaz Franz von Gumppenberg in place of a burned-down 17th-century castle. In 1888 it was altered by its owner Karl von Herman. It remains to this day in the possession of the Barons von Herman. The castle is regularly the venue for cultural events (horse riding, classical music).
