Schrozberg Castle, a moated castle whose origins date back to the 15th century, shapes the townscape of Schrozberg and today serves as a center for administration and culture.

History+

After the Schrozburg was destroyed by the Rothenburgers in 1441, construction of the current moated castle began on the Vorbach. It was completed in the 16th century. The rule over Schrozberg was divided and changed hands among noble families such as the Lords of Schrozberg, Seldeneck, Adelsheim, Rothenburg, Hohenlohe, and Berlichingen. In 1625, the west wing and a round corner tower were added, followed by the east wing in the 18th century.
