In Semlow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, stands Semlow Castle, an example of Neoclassical architecture. Originally conceived as a manor house, it became a destination for lovers of historical buildings.

History+

The origins of Semlow Castle date back to approximately 1825, when it was commissioned by Carl von Behr-Negendank and built by the Strelitz court architect Friedrich Wilhelm Buttel. Initially, the construction comprised only the present-day central part. Around 1850, the castle underwent an expansion with the addition of an orangery and a two-story residential area. The Behr von Negendank family used the estate as their residence until World War II.
