Senzke Castle

Senzke was first documented in 1331, when it belonged to the Lords of Jerichow and was part of the Friesack region. As early as 1335, the Bredows took over the feudal lordship of the castle and the surrounding area, but lost it again in 1399. In 1427, Hasso II von Bredow once again came into possession of the Friesack region. In 1587, Lippold von Bredow was granted Senzke, after the local farmers had previously suffered from looting by various lords such as the Gauß and Römer families, who demanded tributes in kind. In 1726, Joachim Heinrich Fintelmann, whose family produced renowned court gardeners, became the lordly gardener in Senzke.
