In Esslingen am Neckar, Serach Castle is situated. Originally conceived as a residential house, it developed through extensions into an estate that once served as a meeting place for personalities.

History+

The origins of Serach Castle date back to 1820, when senior district judge Karl August Georgii had a residential house built here. Eight years later, in 1828, Count Alexander of Württemberg acquired the estate. In 1834, he commissioned an expansion of the existing palace. In the newly created rooms, particularly in a salon adorned with ceiling paintings by Julius Lettenmayer, the Count received well-known poets of his time, including Justinus Kerner, Hermann Kurz, Nikolaus Lenau, Emma Niendorf, Ludwig Uhland, and Gustav Schwab.
