In 1878, the Siethen estate was acquired by the Berlin wholesale merchant August Herrmann Badewitz. In 1880, he commissioned the demolition and new construction of an elongated Neo-Renaissance building. The castle received a mansard roof with decorative superstructures and round dormer windows.
