Sjöö Castle is located in the municipality of Holm near Enköping in the Swedish province of Uppsala.

History+

The first documented mention of the Sjöö estate dates back to 1409, when it was owned by Peter Laurensson. The property passed into the possession of Gustav Vasa. A turning point occurred in 1541, when Vestgöte Sjöö acquired the estate and initiated the construction of the present castle. Since 1813, the year of its acquisition by Johan Gustaf Baner, Sjöö Castle has remained in the possession of his family.
