The origins of Skottorp Castle date back to the second half of the 17th century. At that time, the building was constructed according to designs by the renowned architect Nicodemus Tessin the Elder. In the early 19th century, specifically in the 1820s, the castle underwent extensive renovation and modernization, which gave it its current Neoclassical character. Since 1986, Skottorp Castle has been protected as a Swedish cultural monument.
