Sorgenfrei Castle
The hunting lodge "Sorgenfrei" is a small hunting lodge on the slope of the Elsenz valley on the road to Schatthausen on the southwestern outskirts of the municipality of Mauer in the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis in Baden-Württemberg. It is considered one of the smallest feudal buildings in the Rhein-Neckar region.
Presumably, a castle built around 1200, called "Veste Mure" or "Muren", was located on the site of the present hunting lodge, as indicated by the names of some parcels of land such as "Burgäcker" (Castle Fields) and "Schlossäcker" (Palace Fields), suggesting that the castle was not built on a mountain.
The hunting lodge was built in 1788 by Baron Carl von Zyllenhardt. Through the marriage of his only daughter, the small lodge came into the possession of the Göler von Ravensburg family in 1831.

The castle complex is an early classicist two-story country estate with a protruding central room and a surrounding balcony in front of the second floor. The building has a total of only six small rooms. A medallion on the balcony railing shows the initials CZ of the builder.
