Spaur Castle

The origins of the estate, later known as Spaur Castle, date back to around 1400, when it was owned by Vlrich Kirchpuchler and included a dwelling and an iron hammer mill. In 1669, the Tanzperger family took over the property, followed by the merchant family Poschinger from 1730. In 1829, ownership passed to Ludwig Graf von Dennhof, who was married to Antonia Gräfin von Thurn und Taxis. After further changes of ownership, including Josef and Anna Zeller (1855) and Anna von Imhof (1871), Philipp Graf von Spauer acquired the estate in 1879, giving it its current name. The present two-story villa with a double hip roof was built in 1935.
