Spiegelsberge Castle (Halberstadt)

The Spiegelsberge Hunting Lodge is a building constructed as a hunting lodge on the Spiegelsberge hills near Halberstadt in Saxony-Anhalt. Today it is used as a catering establishment.

The lodge was built between 1780 and 1782 on a rectangular floor plan. The northern and southern facades feature curved gables. From the south, an external staircase leads to the hall located on the upper floor. Some building components originate from the demolished Gröningen Castle, particularly the portal on the south side at the entrance to the castle's cellar. The superstructure displays the coats of arms of Bishop Heinrich Julius and his wives.

Remarkable is the very large Gröningen Barrel located in the cellar.

In 1958, it was converted into a restaurant. In this context, an economic annex was also constructed.
