St. Georgen Castle

The former fortified building was originally owned by the Counts of Berngau, who were succeeded by the Counts of Plain in the 12th century. They had St. Georgen administered by burgraves, who soon named themselves after the castle. In 1147, a Rutpertus de sancto Georgio is mentioned for the first time.
