Stadelhof Castle

The first documented mention of the Stadelhof estate dates back to 1599, when Sigmund von Keutschach acquired it. After his death in 1607, the property changed hands through mortgage to Adam zu Ratzenegg and Hallegg, followed by other owners such as Johann Weber von und zu Ehrental. In the 18th century, the castle experienced numerous changes of ownership. A transformation to its current appearance occurred between 1772 and 1780, likely under the direction of Johann Georg Hagenauer, during which side wings were added and the facade was renewed. In the late 18th century, it was owned by the iron merchant Johann Matthäus Freiherr von Koller, later followed by Gustav Graf Egger and a series of almost annual ownership changes. In the 20th century, the castle passed to the Dreihann-Holenia family in 1953 and to Elisabeth Fräss-Ehrfeld in 1975. A renovation and interior reconstruction last took place from 1994 to 1996.
