Stadtroda Castle is a structure in the small town of Stadtroda in the Saale-Holzland district of Thuringia. It was used for centuries as an administrative seat, before finding its current function as a district court.

History+

Reports of a castle in Stadtroda existed around the year 1500. This earlier building was destroyed in a town fire. The castle acquired its current architectural form through construction work that spanned from 1663 to 1734. Prince Christian Wilhelm established his own court here with his wife, Countess Louise Reuß zu Schleiz. From 1780, the estate served various offices.
