Stamsried Castle

Originally, a castle stood on the site of the present-day palace, its beginnings dating back to the 11th century. In the middle of the 14th century, the Kürner family acquired the castle. In 1634, the castle was destroyed by the Swedes. Initially, the palace was rebuilt in wood. From 1708 to 1710, Adolph Graf von Metsch had the wooden structure demolished and erected the present-day palace as a four-wing complex with a tower. The northern part of the palace park is still preserved and today houses the open-air swimming pool, newly opened in 2006.
