The origins of Stavenhagen Castle date back to around 1740, when the current plastered building was constructed. A significant alteration occurred around 1890, when a round stair tower was added, giving the structure a characteristic element. For many decades, until the 1970s, the castle served as an educational institution before assuming its current function as an administrative seat.
