Stenhammar Castle

To be privately owned

Stenhammar Castle is a historic estate in the Swedish municipality of Flen. The castle's current appearance, with its turrets, dates back to the 17th century.

History+

The origins of the estate can be traced back to the late 14th century, when it was known as Slädhammar. In 1658, a transformation took place: the current two-story main building with its turrets was constructed, which also led to the name change to Stenhammar. In 1809, the merchant Anders Petterson acquired the castle. He bequeathed it in 1870 to his grandson, Court Marshal Robert von Kræmer.
