History of the Building+
The history of the building is long and eventful. It was first mentioned in 1573 as a knight's estate (Rittergut). Until 1645, it was owned by the von Klüx family. During this period, the estate was divided into Niederstrahwalde and Oberstrahwalde.

Architectural Development+
The current appearance of the castle dates back largely to the new construction in 1724 after a devastating fire. Further significant changes were made in 1907 when Hugo Schlegel acquired the property and undertook extensive renovations.

After the expropriation in 1945, the building served various public purposes, including as a children's home and kindergarten. Since 2002, it has been in private ownership but has remained vacant, awaiting a new chapter in its long history.
