In the municipality of Sünching in the district of Regensburg, Sünching Castle rises, one of the Rococo complexes in Southern Germany. This octagon with its irregular octagonal inner courtyard has been continuously inhabited by its founding families.

History+

The first documented mention of the locality Sünching dates back to 773. A noble family named Sünchinger is verifiable in the region between the 12th and 14th centuries. From 1573 to 1958, Sünching Castle served as the residence for the Barons and later Counts of Seinsheim. The castle's construction history is well documented.
