The castle was built around 1800 by the Counts Festetics. The interiors are sober and without artistic embellishment. In the 19th century, Sulz had a lively spa business (Güssing mineral water also originates from here). The spa became a meeting place for the distinguished Hungarian world at that time.
The Güssing Mineral Water Company m.b.H. sold the castle to the Sulz Castle Association, which is carrying out the restoration and setting up an event center.
