In Neuhaus am Klausenbach in Burgenland stands Schloss Tabor, a building with a hook-shaped floor plan. It is the oldest building in the Jennersdorf district.

History+

The origins of Schloss Tabor date back to 1469, when it was built by the Styrian mercenary leader Ulrich Pessnitzer. From 1607, the castle became the property of the Batthyány family and served as an alternative residence for the then dilapidated Neuhaus Castle. During the Thirty Years' War (1618–1648), it offered refuge to numerous Styrian Protestants. In the 17th century, the building underwent Baroque renovations.
