History+

The origins of Tairnbach Castle date back to 1736, when an older manor house was demolished to make way for the new construction. It was built by the Barons d'Outrepont, who later integrated into the region as Ueberbruck von Rodenstein. A crucial turning point was 1905, when the widow of the last male heir sold the castle along with the Sternweiler Hof to the municipality for 170,000 Goldmark.
